The Iranian
I arrived at the Steps of Rome Cafe in San Francisco's Italian district (a popular Iranian hang-out) looking for a tall man with long hair, beard and starving-artist look. That was my impression of Yari Ostovany based on what I had seen on his website.
But the Yari I met was a clean-cut, handsome, mild-mannered man with a goatee. He suggested we go to a quieter, easy-going cafe nearby. Over a cup of coffee, he spoke about his eventful journey as an artist and publisher in the U.S. during the past two decades.
What you will see below are the storm of ideas, ambitions and emotions driving the calm., gentle Yari.
