Shahin The Bohemian
===================

From: Nersi Ramazan-nia <Ramazannia@earthlink.net>

Shahin The Bohemian dives deep into the Web and exposes himself. He writes:

I live my life to experience the moment, at least that's what i've been told! I've been living a big part of my life searching for love and affection and still do. All I want out of life is to make love with my paintings, to duel with my paintings, to get lost into a dark pair of eyes in which I can feel my unborn daughter, ..someone I can tango my life away with, a woman to whom I don't have to tell about "Bachianas Brasileiras" and one who will relate to those happier days of my life when everything was OK, when we slept on the roof tops in beautiful august nights inside a silken net away from the bugs and had to once in a while reach underneath it to grab that clay bowl of ice water while our mom and dads still lived together and slept inside the same house. What I search in life is simple passion,... it's passionately simple. I shared 6 years of my life with the most beautiful girl in the world, a balerina, a bohemian from Spain, another lost soul whom I loved and will always love even though she now lives in my book. Then one day I heard these funny words "Joon", "Jigar".... and I was never the same...

Christian site in Persian
=========================

This site is relatively new ("Serving Christ since August 1996"). It is pretty plain and straightforward. It has three sections, all in Persian:

-- What is Christianity
-- Frequently asked questions -
- How I became a Christian

The site is at:

Persian Outpost's Travel section
================================

From: Ben Bagheri <ben@connect.net>

Here's the latest posting on Persian Outpost's "Travel" section:

"The Gadook Pass: A Nostalgic Gateway to the Caspian"

By: Ali Akbar's Son

[On the new Firoozkooh highway] father always used to point out places off the road, up on the mountain or across some rice field and tell us a little story or a memory. This often made my mother very angry, since he did it while driving on those scary mountainous turns!

Persian music for kids
======================

This is the first listing of Persian songs for kids that we have found. It is on a site run by the Iranian embassy in Ottawa, Canada.

The sound quality is not that good, but you might want to give it a try. The site also includes several Azari songs.

(By the way, I checked the site again just now and it gave me a message that the Real Audio server is down or busy...)

Question

=======================
Is there a Persian OCR?
=======================

From: Patrick Clawson <clawsonp@ndu.edu>

I want an optical character reader (OCR) to read a lot of material in Farsi.

Does anyone have suggestions for hardware or software? I would like to know if the OCR is compatible with other scanners, if the program for running it is in Farsi or English, and if there is an evaluation copy available.
