God? Bible? You need help.

In response to Cid Davoodi's "Say no to same-sex marriage":

The fallacy of your rubbish is the fact that you think sex is about Eve and apples and Adam. Sex is a natural thing and people who are attracted to the same sex/gender are natural. Homosexuals and gay people have as much choice about their sexuality as you have. Did you learn to become a heterosexual breast/vagina loving guy or did you just find yourself attracted to that particular group of people who have those organs?

As for your religious rubbish, that is another thing. You write:

<< After legalizing same-sex marriage, we will be completely removing the meaning from the word " family". Marriage, from the dawn of time, whether one believes in religion or simply denies god, has been a religious coming together of a man and a woman. No matter what the case, marriage has been and always will remain a religious sanction. >>

from the dawn of time? You mean when we were apes and marked our territory using our own turd? Did they use pieces of turd during the "holy" ceremonies of marriage that they held? That is the down of time or you mean? before us when the fish got married?! When is this dawn of time you are referring to? Then you write:

<< Unfortunately, in countries such as ours, people invite change no matter what it may be and what implications it may have for their society. Not only will this negatively affect our children, but gay marriage will have to be taught in schools as morally equal to heterosexual marriage, thus taking the meaning out of the word morals, and that's not something that we, or the rest of Canada should be willing to do so that gay couples can have more rights than normal Canadian citizens. >>

People invite change because people grow and the cultural evolutions happen. We realize what sorts of injustice have been happening because of superstition ideas, which were greatly based on religious rhetoric.

What is this "morals" you talk of and why your version is to exclude all other people? Who or what are the "normal Canadian citizens"?! What is your definition of normal? gay people do not want "more rights" than you and I. they just want the same right because they are also citizens/subject of the queen in the same society. That might be a concept too sophistical for you to fully grasp but try.

Maybe it is true that, you can take the boy out of a backward thinking theocracy, but you can not take that way of thinking out of a boy"s mind.

So you have left one fundamentalist theological system to exercise your prejudge and ill conceived ideas which lack any reasoning in another society?

Whomever that is born gay should have the same rights as the rest of people. The fallacy that marriage is a holy act of union between two people clearly has entered your head too deeply. Marriage is not about church. Marriage is a simple contract for protection in the tribe, community, town or indeed the entire country.

What if Canadian law started banning Iranians from marrying their Canadians partners legally and said "only white Canadians can marry, other people should only have civil unions." And their children will not have the same rights as the white Canadians who are the "right and proper" Canadians; everybody else should just live by second class citizenship standards.

Government is to govern and control the administration and to serve needs of the society. It needs to offer equal protection to all group of the society within its legal boundaries. To hand out permission of marriage to one group and civil unions to anther group is discriminating.

Gay people do have families and love for each other and want their children and partners to be protected by law. They want the same human rights as other tax paying citizens. If they can not legally be protected under the law the same way as you and I are, then they should not pay any tax. You and I use their tax money to receive legal protection from the government and since they do not get that right, then they should not be paying any money towards rights and happiness of others. It is only fair, right?

How would you feel about being told by the government and society in effect that your being is wrong, that you are wrong, that you should not exist or you should become like everyone else, because you have a choice, what if you can not become like everyone else, because that is who you are?
