Bay Area contributing authors to this anthology of new Iranian-American
literature including Zara Houshamand, Persis Karim (editor), Maryam Ovissi,
Sanaz Nikaein, Katayoon Zandvakili and Shadi Ziaei will read from "A
World Between.
With the release of his 3rd CD; By Any Mode Necessary on X DOT 25, Hafez
Modirzadeh completes the trilogy of Chromodal Jazz Sequence (I. Chromodal
Discourse 1992, People's Blues 1995, By Any Mode Necessary 1999), Hafez,
a well-known Bay Area jazz musician, will perform the sounds of contemporary
jazz with Iranian-based melodies and harmonies. He
will play the saxophone and the nay.
