Iran to witness last solar eclipse
TEHRAN, Iran, May 27 (UPI) -- An Iranian tourist official says the
last complete solar eclipse of this century will take place in the city
of Esfahan and will attract many tourists from around the world.
The head of Iran's tourist institution said today that tourists from
around the world, including 250 Japanese, were expected to visit Iran
to witness the eclipse in Esfahan, 400 km south of Tehran, on August 11
at 11:30 GMT.
He said preparations were underway to accomodate the tourists in Esfaphan
and other nearby cities.
The solar eclipse will start in the western Atlantic, Europe, Turkey
and northern Iraq while its final and complete form will be spotted over
Esfahan.
