Assistant Professor for Persian Language and Literature
The Department of Near Eastern Studies at the University of Arizona
has an opening for a tenure track position at the level of Assistant Professor,to
start in the academic year 2000/2001. Applicants must have a primary specialization
in Persian language and literature.
Persian language proficiency is essential, and strong background in
contemporary Iranian cultural studies is highly desirable. The successful
candidate will demonstrate significant scholarly accomplishment and potential,
as well as evidence of excellence in teaching. S/he is expected to teach
introductory and advanced courses in Persian language, literature, and
cultural studies.
A Ph.D. is required at the time of application. Salary range is competitive
and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
