Artists at Rumi conference, southern California

Dear Friends,

Here is an invitation to see a great art exhibition and attend an interesting conference on Rumi in southern California. There are least five Iranians in the exhibition! Seyed Alavi, Kamrooz Aram, Termeh Dimi Yeghiazarian, Taraneh Hemami and Nasser Ovissi. Hope to see you down there! -- Taraneh Hemami

Mirror of the Invisible

Contemporary Artists Reflecting on Rumi and Islamic Mysticism
Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum
September 21- November 5

An art exhibition in conjunction with the conference, Rumi 2000: Whirling with the Cosmos at CSUSB and San Bernardino Valley College (October 26-28, 2000). 45 works representing various mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, video, mix media, etc., will be included in the exhibition. The exhibition will consist of two parts in two different venues.

-- Part I: A group show of 15 artists at the Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum September 21- November 5, 2000 (possibly extended until November 19, 2000) Artists in the exhibition: Zahra Almufti, Kamrooz Aram, Marlene Aron, Nancy Azara, Gail Bach, Termeh Dimi Yeghiazarian, Taraneh Hemami, Suzanne Kanatsiz, Jim Morris, Nasser Ovissi, Michele Rivers, Ron Scholastico, Joan Skoksberg Sanders and Robert Wertz.

-- Part II: Sayed Alavi, A site-specific installation, Ode to Shams (Working title), at the San Bernardino Valley College Art Gallery, September 28 - October 28, 2000
