Official says private ownership of aircraft permitted

June: Head of the Technical Aviation Training Centre Hoseyn Arya'ipour
said on Wednesday [28th June] that the Iranian citizens could possess and
use small personal planes.
Talking to reporters in the Rey Aviation Complex, Arya'ipour said those
interested in having personal planes can submit their application to the
Aviation Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran 's Airlines and undergo
the procedures to import private planes.
The official added that the applicants should not fear for the repair
of their personal aircraft since the Iranian Technical Aviation Training
Centre would provide overhauling services to them if need be adding that
it would undertake the training of the pilots as well.
Up to now, three small planes have been imported and made available
to the private sector, he stated and added that two of the planes are set
to carry four passengers and are owned by Boland Parvaz private company
while the other one is a two-seated small plane and is purchased by an
Iranian citizen.
He also elaborated on a newly established technical aviation high school
in Iran which began its training courses since last October. The said high
school was set up with the cooperation of the Education Ministry.
The students in this high school pass an entrance exam to study there
and they will be granted a diploma after successfully undergoing the training
courses for two years.
