Full-Time Lecturer, Persian
Emory University, the Department of Middle Eastern Studies announces
a full-time Lecturer position for a professional language instructor of
Persian, effective September 1, 2001. This position is an annually renewable
position subject to funding. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
Responsibilities include teaching courses on all levels of Persian, helping
coordinate the Persian program and developing teaching materials. In addition,
the successful candidate will be expected to participate in the daily work
of the Department.
Requirements: M. A. or Ph. D. in Persian language, linguistics, or language
pedagogy; a minimum of at least two years' language teaching experience
at the college level; training in language teaching; and native or near-native
competence in both Persian and English.
Applicants must be prepared to introduce up-to-date and innovative pedagogy,
including proficiency-based approach to language instruction and testing.
