AIC Nowrouz festivities

The American Iranian Council (AIC) invites you to join the Persian New Year Gala, 1380 (2001), celebrating the achievements of the Iranian-American community.

The AIC Nowrouz festivities begin with a conference on US-Iran relations under the new Bush Administration. Last year, Secretary Madeleine Albright delivered a groundbreaking speech at the event, and a high-ranking US official (TBA) will address the conference this year as well. Hadi Nejad-Hosseinian, Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations, will also deliver a special address.

The conference will be followed by a reception and Persian Gala dinner in which AIC's 2001 Iranian-American Honoree (TBA) will be recognized for his/her overall contribution to our peoples. Last year's AIC Honoree was Christiane Amanpour, Chief CNN International Correspondent.

The audience of about 350 people will include Americans and Iranian-Americans who have made important contributions to American society over the past two decades in many different areas. The audience will also include members of Congress, former statesmen, prominent academics, policy makers, diplomats, business executives, and prominent journalists.

Please join us in celebrating the arrival of spring, the Persian New Year, and the achievements of our two civilizations!
