Gallery Ovissi: First specializing in Iranian art

Maryam Ovissi and Daryl Pendleton are proud to announce the opening of Gallery Ovissi in Emeryville, California. The Gallery will feature unique exhibitions and events that share the works of contemporary Iranian and Middle Eastern artists in the United States.

Iranian-born Maryam Ovissi, the daughter of internationally renown Iranian artist Nasser Ovissi, has been a part of the art world since birth. Her experience and expertise in art has allowed her to curate annual exhibitions for Iranian and Arab artiststhroughout the United States.

Daryl Pendleton's love for the arts and his extensive experience in Sales and marketing together with Maryam Ovissi will insure a winning Gallery combination. Gallery Ovissi's inaugurating exhibition will open on Saturday, December 12, 1998 from 1-6 p.m. The Gallery will feature an exhibition sharing the beautiful works of art, jewelry and sculpture by Iranian women artists in the Bay Area: Manzar Maroufi, Parichehr Azari, Azar Dadgar and the Director of the Creative Learning Community Center, Scheherazad St. Martin, ATR, will be sharing her work.

The exhibition, Mitraism: A Persian Celebration of Life, offers a wonderful opportunity for unique holiday gift buying. This special opening event will also support the Children's Creative Arts Education Program in Marin County with a raffle and silent auction of unique and wonderful gifts.

The owners of Gallery Ovissi have a deep commitment to the nonprofit sector and plan to have many of their exhibitions donate to area nonprofit and charity organizations.
