Call for Papers
An explosion of data in this information age is bringing communications and computers ever closer together. The World Wide Web and the Internet bring sources of information across the world to our finger tips. High-speed transmission and switching devices allow an immense amount of information to be transferred in a blink and to support real-time applications. How should developing countries cope with this onslaught of technology?
This technical gathering provides a forum for Iranian experts from academia and industry to exchange ideas and present the results of their findings in the following areas as applied to developing countries. You are invited to submit a paper for oral or poster presentation, or a proposal for a panel discussion related to these topics:

Abstracts of no more than 200 words should be sent by email, regular mail, or fax (212-246-2905) to the Technical Program Chair. The abstract should include the complete author's name(s), affiliation, mailing address, telephone, fax number, email address, and a set of 3 to 5 keywords. Three copies of your paper (not to exceed 10 double-spaced pages including tables and diagrams) should be mailed to the Technical Program Chair. The paper should include the abstract, all the acronyms/abbreviations, and references.
The language of the conference is English, however, papers or presentations in Persian will be accepted.

Notification to authors June 5, 1998
Final camera-ready paper due date July 3, 1998
Advance Registration August 21, 1998

IAA at a glance: Iranian Academic Association in North America is a non-profit organization which has been established in New York by Iranian scholars in North America. The goal of this association is to provide a forum for Iranian scholars in the area through scientific conferences, meetings and cultural activities. A Quarterly Bulletin is published by IAA to foster a cooperative atmosphere among Iranian scholars.
