News & Views Iranian business meeting in San Francisco IRANIAN BUSINESS COMMUNITY CITY AND COUNTY OF SAN FRANCISCO All Iranian-American business owners and professionals in the City and County of San Francisco are invited to the upcoming meeting for making important decisions towards the future common goals of Iranian business community and celebration of our expanding presence in the San Francisco/Bay area communities. Attendance of other Iranian-Americans is also encouraged for this event. Thanks AGENDA: * Progress report on status of Iranian-Americans to be formally recognized by the City and County of San Francisco * Thanks to the support of many of you, the long process of our application to the City of San Francisco for formal recognition is near completion at this time. This recognition provides tremendous business opportunities for Iranian-American business owners as well as employment opportunities in the City and County of San Francisco. San Francisco will be the first City in the United State to recognize our community. For our process to successfully complete, your attendance in the meeting is crucial. In addition to the support of board of Supervisors and specifically Supervisor Amos Brown, Mayor Brown has endorsed our request and promised a speedy process. * Formation of Iranian-American Chamber of Commerce. * We need your thinking and your vote to decide on the creation of a chamber of commerce for Iranian-American business community. This chamber has the potential to provide the channel through which political and business interest of our community will be pursued. A presentation by of the attorneys will highlight the benefits and the requirements for formation of the chamber. * Fund Raising Event for Re-Election of Mayor Brown * We are also happy to announce that Mayor Brown will be present at this event. This event will also serve as a fund raising for re-election of Mayor Brown who has agreed to fully support our application for recognition. It is also equally important to have as many Iranians as possible present at this event, to get the recognition that our community so badly needs from the City officials.
