
Perrier nominee 'gets US show'
October 14, 2002 (BBC online) -- Britain's Perrier Award nominee Omid Djalili
has reportedly landed his own television show in America.
American network NBC is believed to have signed the comic to star in his own show
expected to be broadcast next autumn. The project will be based on Djalili's act
as well as a self-deprecating look at the collision of his Iranian and Western cultural
identities.
A spokesman for NBC told the Hollywood Reporter that Djalili is "the best comic
that you don't know. "He is a character actor who is like a bigger-than-life
