As Golbarg’s mother, I believe she is the
Iranian of the Day, as her heart beats relentlessly for Iran, especially
for the
women and the dispossessed in her country of birth. She therefore
works for the realisation of women's human rights globally
and Hakan, her husband is the best son-in-law, we could
have ever hoped for. Together they shine and are the happiest and
most harmonious of couples! >>> More

Here I share with you, some photos from their wedding day.
Their wedding day was a picturesque sunny winter's day in the Northern
Swedish town ofHärnösand. Although, they were busy
doctorate students in the UK, they organised and set out their
entire wedding (outside the UK) single-handedly! We, her family
only had the responsibility of enjoying ourselves and well, we
baked Persian sweets for the occasion and sang Persian and Shirazi
wedding songs for them, such a joy!
Golbarg & Hakan got married in Sweden as Hakan
is a native Swede and Golbarg has grown-up in Sweden. They wanted
to get married where at least one of them had sentimental attachments,
so they chose Harnosand, near Hakan’s parents'
home-village. Golbarg had talked about of having their wedding
ceremony and party on the grounds of Hafezi-ye (the tomb of the
great Persian poet, Hafez in our native Shiraz). But that day in
Harnosand did supersede their dreams and ours.
They spent their honeymoon travelling in India and celebrated their
first wedding anniversary in Venice, Italy a couple of months ago.
Their joint passion is travelling, social justice issues and environmental
living.
We (her father and I) wish them a lifetime of happiness and love,
a path they set out together nearly four years ago. They are an
inspiration to us.
