Ultimate breakfast
One early Friday morning in late summer, 1989, we had the ultimate
breakfast in Khanoom Qahremani's back yard in Tehran's Farmaniyeh
district: Fresh sangak bread, watermelon, tomatoes and cucumber, feta
cheese, butter, dates, fried eggs, sabzi (fresh mint, spring onions...),
and chaay
shirin (sweet tea) ... heaven!
