* U.S. critic pays tribute to ``overlooked''
films
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Reuters) - Movie critic Roger
Ebert, whose thumbs-up is coveted by Hollywood studios, championed films
from Iran, India, and the silent era Wednesday at the opening of his second
annual ``overlooked film festival.'' Ebert, who writes for the Chicago
Sun-Times and hosts a weekly television show, has said he started the festival
in part to compensate for the ``melancholy experience of finding a film
to truly love -- and then discovering that most people have never heard
