January 26, 2000, TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - In an effort to boost foreign
trade, Iran will liberalize imports from the beginning of its third five-year
development plan, a customs official said Wednesday. The move, which will
go into effect on March 21, will include "all commodities that have

dollars to 11.2 billion in the year to March 2001, the country's planning
chief said Thursday, indicating that the government's five-year plan was
