* Iran, India to study gas pipeline through Pakistan
TEHRAN, May 24 (AFP) - Iran and India have agreed to carry out technical
studies for a gas pipeline linking their countries via Pakistan, Iranian
Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi said in remarks reported Wednesday. Kharazi
was quoted by the financial press that he and Indian Foreign Minister Jaswant

* Iran in $83 mln steel deal with Japan-led group
TEHRAN, May 24 (Reuters) - Iran signed an $83 million deal with a Japanese-led
consortium on Wednesday to build the country's first pelletising plant.
Japan's Kobe Steel Ltd is to build the plant with an annual capacity of
3.4 million tonnes. Kobe Steel representative Fumio Yamashita signed the
deal in Tehran with the head of the state National Iranian Steel Company,

* US oil jumps back to $30 as mogas worries flare
NEW YORK, May 24 (Reuters) - U.S. oil prices surged by more than a dollar
on Wednesday amid continuing concern about tight gasoline supplies as the
summer driving season gets going with this weekend's Memorial Day holiday.
Crude oil for July delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX)
settled up $1.15 at $29.93 a barrel after the U.S. Energy Information Administration
(EIA) reported that reformulated gasoline (RFG) stocks fell as much as
2.2 million barrels in the week ending May 19 >>>
