OPEC pledges kinder, gentler cartel

a kinder, gentler oil cartel that would fight to protect the environment
and the rights of developing nations, but made no specific promise to boost

Iran records first surplus with Western banks in three years
London, Sept. 28, IRNA -- During the first three months of 2000, Iran's
external position with western banks moved into surplus for the first time
in over three years. According to the latest quarterly review from the
Bank of International Settlement, Iran's deposits in all sectors rose to
Dlrs 9.3 billion at the end of March, up from Dlrs 8.1 bn at the end of
1999 and from Dlrs 6.3 billion at the end of 1998 >>>

Too much oil on the market: Oil minister

held in Caracas this week addresses the issue of taxes industrialized countries

Drought leaves 40 tonnes of fish dead, production fall-off

Khatami says West should cut fuel taxes
