Now that mayhem is done,
The King is at his palace,
Troops at barracks,
And Town is drunk
With urge to settle down with
The night.
Now that daylight has lost
Its charm,
Sparrows no longer sing
To the madness tune of the tribe,
Sea and river have declared
Truce, subsiding their waters
At the borderline.
I have become jobless, no longer
Distracted by the mundane chores,
“Stillness” has become a mistress
But I am too scared to indulge –
Had never seen the majesty of
Ocean under the skylight of stars.
Yesterday and tomorrow want
To keep me down, but
“Stillness” charms fear and worries
And declare that the “moment” and
All its glories are mine.
