It is ignorant to say that she would be offended if she was called African-Iranian. I am sure she is being raised to love both sides of her heritage. Most blacks who are mixed do acknowledge and identify themselves as mixed. I stumbled upon this page because I was on her website and saw that she said she was learning to speak Farsi. I wondered what language..my 1st guess was it was connected to the middle east b/c i thought she was mixed with middle eastern. I am black and mixed so this was obvious to me. Clearly she loves both parts of her heritage. I grew up with friends of almost every race and major religion you can think of and saw them for their character not race,etc. Yara is beautiful.

Obviously this girl is absolutely amazing and cute regardless of race. It is a source of pride that she is half iranian because she shows the progress of iranian people and towards racial harmony. We should support her.

Mixed race children are beautiful. A young girl wrote something about Mr. Tehran who was an Iranian of the Day some time back. If after watching his clip you arent proud of being Iranian then I dont know what will make you proud.

These children are our future.

In case you forgot, this is a movie about an african american family, not an iranian family. They call themselves african american and they would resent it if called african-iranian-american or so on! Look at obama! They don't call him african-irish-german american! they call him african american in this country! Get used to it!

Hopefully she will have a lot of success with this movie and in the future. Hollywood is extremely competitive for established actors, and for children it's like jumping into a tank full of sharks while wearing a wetsuit covered with raw meat.
