Houman Zarei: Prisoner of the day

Bahai arrested in Shiraz

RAHANA: Houman Zarei is a young Bahai citizen from Shiraz. Unable to find him at his residence, security forces arrested Zarei at his work place on Thursday, 22 February 2012. He was transferred to Shiraz Intelligence Office Detention Center, also known as Number 100. Zarei's arrest followed the arrests of 30 followers of Bahai faith in Shiraz on 6 February.

His family's repeated inquiries at the Revolutionary Court have not rendered any results as judicial authorities have consistently refrained from providing answers to them while mistreating the family. The Secretary to the Shiraz Prosecutor quoted the Prosecutor to Zarei's family to have said that they should see about his case after the Iranian New Year (March 20, 2012), and not before it.

For keeping this thread going.   Sometimes the magnitude of the Human Rights catastrophy that goes on in Iran is lost with all the side issues surrounding our motherland.   Those who think IR must be modified via a LONG TERM process must follow this thread very carefuly and think of these young innocent souls as members of their own family.

درود بر تمام ایرانیان مبارز

Freedom to follow your chosen religion is part of the basic human rights and IRI has been systematically violating those rights for the last 33 years. We owe it to these young and brave freedom seekers our full support and a sustain campaign for their immediate and unconditional freedom. My hats off to each and every one of these freedom seekers.

Nothing more, nothing less...

Yes, that's all it takes in islamic so called "Republic" of hell to end up spending your new year behind the bars, deprived of your civil rights, become an outcast...

Houman and all political and religious prisoners of Islamic regime are the beating hearts of our great nation's resistance to Islamist Fascism. Only when every single one of them is freed, when Evin prison and hundreds of other known and secret torture chambers of Islamist regime are turned into museums of shame, can our nation even start talking about rule of law and democracy in our land.
