To think that this could look like an indeal set for Western Spaghetti's or should I call it Persian Spaghettis ?

Beautiful landscapes that would amaze Europeans or Americans who would think Iran is just Desert.

Beautiful Thanks for Sharing ;0)

It's called: EEGEL

by ThePope on

There's a lot of "baagh" (famous for cherrys and "shemiran" apples, "seeb-shemruni")in EEGEL but the area is not known as "egol"(!).

EEGEL, a very small village, is one of the very last mountain top "deh" high over Oushaan. After entering Oushaan, you keep on going UP from the imam khomeini blvd, untill you reach the high peak... It's one of the coldest place in the region too. It has nothing to do with Fasham which is over 5km further away from Oushaan's main entrance (do raahi-e Oushaan).

-Fasham (by the old name of Pasham or Pashmeh-chaal to be more precise) is the "markaz" of the whole Rudbaar-e ghasraan. And the biggest village too.

-Oushaan means: O-AFSHAAN. O in old Persian: AAB (water, the French still use it as "eau", comme de l'eau). The name O-afshaan, full of water, is the best word to describe the whole Rudbaar-e Ghasraan region which has a lot of ancient castles in the mountains (just like the name reveals it). The slang for oushaan is ushun (wich is more in use today).

I also have a question:

I think the spelling and pronunciation of the village name is EGEL and not EGOL. All my life I have been hearing that area as Egel-O-Bagheh Egel near Fasham and Oushan. Can someone give comments about the correct name pronunciation? Thanks
