Hamed Nikpay’s
third concert on his “All Is Calm on the Road” tour was held at
Centennial Theatre in the beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, on
Saturday August 29th. It was another evening of excitement and triumph
for Hamed and his world famous friends, Greg Ellis, Farzin Farhadi,
Daniel Fries, and Dimitris Mahlis.
The audience, as in all other events, was mostly young professionals and college students who had heard Hamed’s music and wanted to see him live. There were also those who had heard the reputation of this young artist as an innovative performer, and had come from as far as Seattle, and even Montreal to get a taste of his music.
The show, which began with the song that has become the symbol of solidarity for Iranian struggle for freedom “The Owner of this Land –Maleke een Khak”, received cheers and standing ovation from the audience, and was performed again at encore. The Vancouver-based Iranians, cheered loud and after each song, gave lengthy applaud and standing ovations to express their sentiments for this artistically written and arranged performance.
“Hamed’s music transcends ethnicity, gender, race, geography, tradition, or any other existing music of today’s diverse music genres. This makes it truly the music of the world”, said one of the young patrons after the show. He then continued, “His music is not bound by any borders, and one cannot label it as Persian, Flamenco, Jazz, or any other kind of music.”
The evening ended with signing of CD’s, and many pictures taken by the fans with the artists.
This successful event was the work of endless hours and committed efforts of Babak Khiavchi with Bamahang Productions who worked tirelessly to organize this truly beautiful evening for the supportive Vancouver fans.
Payvand Media Group, supported this event throughout and during the event with their photography and video production, which will be available to the fans as a reminder of a night and with us for a long time.
