40 days ago another candle burned out in our family home (Rezapahlavi.org)

40 days ago another candle burned out in our family home.  40 days ago I lost my beloved brother, Alireza.  40 days ago another patriot died yearning to see his homeland.

To my compatriots and friends, who have been by our side tirelessly and with broken hearts; to my compatriots and friends, who have sentus warm and kind words of encouragement and condolence; to my compatriots and friends, who have donated so generously to the life saving work of Yasmine's Foundation for the Children of Iran; to all of you who wept with us, mourned with us, sent gifts of poetry, flowers and food, and a beautiful portrait of Alireza; to all of you, who comforted my dear mother, my precious wife, my sweet daughters and my cherished sister; I say no words could ever suffice but I am infinitely grateful.

I will remember every gesture of kindness, every word, from Iran and across the world.  They will be a source of solace, in themonths and years to come.  As my mother said: "..(they) light up the dark nights in our home..."

I am most touched by those of you who reached across divisions, reached out to us and to former adversaries. Nothing could make Alireza'stragic loss make sense.  But if unity and forgiveness were to be sparkedas a result of it, then his passing will not be a complete loss.

I would like, personally, to thank each of you but, sadly, that is not possible.

So I thank you, collectively, for all you have done forme, my mother, Yasmine, Noor, Iman and Farah and for all you do for our homeland.

May God bless Iran,

Reza Pahlavi
