Iran's U17 Team Tops Group C in FIFA World Cup

Iranian U17 (Nojavonon) team beat Netherlands 1-0 to finish first in Group C. Milad Gharibi scored Iran’s goal in the first half.
This is a significant achievement for the Iranian football since Holland has one of the top youth programs in the world.
Iran’s two central defenders, Goudarzi and Shirazi played a flawless game and may prove to be the stars of this team and among the best in this tournament.
This team can go far!

by yolanda on Sun Nov 01, 2009 05:22 AM PSTIt is sad that Iran won't play in the next year's World Cup and we have to wait 5 years from now, but it is good to see the young players are doing well. Hopefully we will see team Melli in Brazil for World Cup 2014.
