On the last day of our trip to Paris, my daughter and I took a tour bus. The last stop was near Shakespeare and Company bookstore, which we loved >>> Photos

I especially liked # 31 because it shows that cozy underground part

I like also # 34 with the fish and lemon, you only see that in European places that even in food try to be artistic and creative

I liked # 35 with the statue and the building- nice architecture in France.  In Iran, we have Persopolis ruins and Bam ruins, not all that.  Plus everything we have in Iran to offer is this or that "ruins"- so telling

I believe France is the no 1 tourist destination.

I was there more than 30 yrs ago....it was wild, I was a cute little kid and I remember these tall sexy wearing French women kissing me with their bright red lipsticks, while my dad and mom were hauling 5 kids around in Europe...

I miss that about all modern countries.  The edge and uniqueness is somehow gone.  Thanks to America's export of mainstream consumption focused culture, many of the little unique places are long gone....people value conformity over uniqueness and creativity.....

I should be heading to Holland next week.  Hopefully one day I get to go to France.  I want to go to those tiny underground events, where you see people still sporting punk outfits and hairstyles and not giving a fuck about the rest of the planet....visit those gothe places, where an Oxfored style shirt is outlawed..........

In a sense all this multiethnicity may sound all correct but truly with unbearing immigrant population in Europe, they are all starting to look alike....everywhere you go you see Indians, Arabs................etc

These societies at some point in the mid 80s were so "European" it had a different and quite exciting taste to it.  Back in those good old days, you would be walking with 4 kids and everyone would be looking at the family...and asking questions...trying to be nice...play with the kids.  Nowadays, you go with a family of 9 kids and no one gives a fuck anymore, because the North African & Turkish assaults on Europe has left them lose their fondness from "new" faces.

anyhow, these were my thoughts....hope your vacation doesn't end.  It sucks coming back to USA-===

Glad you liked the pics. Paris inspires. Thanks for the recommendation. I should rent Before Sunset sometime.

You captured Paris without photographing any of the major monuments.  Quite a feat!  The photos remind me of how it felt to actually live there.

That menu reminds me of a comment I made the first time I looked at a menu of an Iranian restaurant in Paris.  I said, "Hey mom, look, 'Mast-o-Khiar' is the same thing in French as it is English!"  It took both of us a second to figure out what was wrong with what I'd said, then we laughed uncontrollably.  (I was 13.)

And have you seen Before Sunset?  The first scene takes place in that bookstore.
