On July 16, 1909, one hundred years plus one month ago yesterday, Mohammad Ali Shah, the next-to-last king of Qajar dynasty fled Iran. What came to be known as the New Constitutional Revolution was when on the pretext of being against Shariah, the Islamic law, Mohammad Ali Shah disregarded the manifested will of the people, abolished the Constitutional law and resumed ruling as an absolute monarch.
