Islam sucks, Pakistan blows and Iran stinks?

“Islam blows.” A public joke like that in Iran can get you executed … by law! “Mohammad may have been a horny and ruthless tyrant who badly copy & pasted a bunch of Jewish crap.” Declare that possibility, and the Paki Blasphemy laws will decapitate you.

Or even less – much less, just announce that: “I was born Muslim, but don’t believe in Islam anymore.” Guess what? Your sentence may be commuted down to a mere death by hanging!

Is all that Islamic? Probably! Is all that happening in Pakistan and Iran? Definitely!

I politely presented the above disturbing facts to an educated Pakistani Muslim, who countered that; “The western world is no better! Here in the US, if I try to enforce the god’s laws that the heretics, the blasphemers and the faggots must be executed – I will go to jail! So what is the difference? It is actually worse that they value the so called freedom of mere decedent mortals, over the freedom & rule of god. Isn’t that much worse than what we have in Pakistan, and you have in Iran?”

To make the matters worse, that 170 million zealot nation has not only given us the Taliban and supported the Al Qaeda – but it also has produced its own “Dr. Strange Love”, who has blessed them with 150 atomic bombs. Yes, the same Dr. Strange Love who sold the high-speed centrifuge technology to Iran and Libya, in order to enable their Islamic nuclear progress!

SAM, it's much worse than you think,

by Mash Ghasem on

they just had the only Christian member of the cabinet assasinated, because of his position against Blasphemy law. This on top of another assasination of another major politician for the same reson. The lawyers who are supposed to be upholding civility, were demonstrating in support of the assasin. If you're not in tears yet I make  one more point: what you're dealing with in Pakistan is a whole generation from  early to mid 80's shaped by Zia o al hagh, and his schooling of Islam and .... This is a social strtatum not going anywhere any time fast. On the bright side what's happening in Eygpt and Tunisia are best counter to Pakistan, Saudia Arabia: mass democratic movements.

Shazde I think my comment is clear enough.

You don't know of any Muslims in US or Europe who are "afraid" to claim they are Muslim? You don't know of any Muslim who have dropped their religion in the US and Europe to sing along with the crowd?

A Muslim dropping his/her religion or better yet disavowing their nationality (let alone their religion) is nothing new.  I'm talking about those people.  Your quote reminded me of those people, not the ones who rise up against religious intolerance in Pakistan or Iran.

Everything is sacred

Esfnd dear: I don't know what you're talking about but that's ok

Shazde nice quote, I think it may work the other way too!

Do you think that'd apply to Islam bashers in the West as well?!  This is the quote that brought me to your blog!  I think those who bash Islam "proudly" and more importantly "bravely" (not you) in the West but have zero guts in doing so in Iran are Jokers!

They want their "sentence" in the west to be commuted!

Everything is sacred

I know Shazde

I was talking about many years ago when I lived there. I was very upset with the killing of Salman Taseer and Shahbaz Bhatti. I remeber the Christian minority generally formed the poorer part of the society.

I think their government need to have some courage and close all those Saudi financed religious Madressas. I strongly believe that the cause of the problem is not in the Pakistan, but in the Arabia (or Saudi Arabia as it is now called, thanks to British).

Don't know what's wrong with them

by divaneh on

About a year ago, I was talking to a few educated British Pakistanis when one of them mentioned that he has seen a clip in the youTube that someone had captured a Jin. I laughed very hard before noting that they were not laughing. I looked at them and said in disbelief "you won't believe in jins, do you?" They said that of course they did as it exists in Quran. Trying to put some sense in the discussion, I said well it was for the understanding of people in those days. It's just a symbol of bad people. They refused that flatly and said that jins exist and are made of fire because Quran says so.

Still, I lived in Punjab and they were very tolerant and peaceful people. These elements must be from Waziristan area. It is definitely not good news to have these nutcases next to us.

Dear Shazdeh, Beautifully Said .....

I totally agree with all you said.  Truly, Islam sucks big time and Pakistan has really turned into the pit of Islamic sludge.
