I was born and Raised in Iran during the IRI era and that is what they always told us about "tahajomeh fargangi" but the point you and entire IRI is missing is that this is what people really want.
If they didn't want or like it they could have simply switched the channels and not go out of their way to buy satelite dish to watch western programming or wear wester clothing.
Furthermore you are failing to see our culture or religion failed to modernize so that is why our people are moving on.

That's why the new generation is lost due to heavy propeganda by the West! west is getting to their minds! Losing our own precious values and replacing them by trashy and all sex and materialistic culture of the west! What a bargain! If we don't have our culture, then what do we really have? They don't want us have the atomic technology, only the play boy and drugs! Keeps us busy w/sex and screw us! give away our culture and oil and get play boy in return w/ broken families, bad economy, AIDS, divorce, cheating, corruption, etc.! We are duped! Do I blame all that on them? No! But, look at it more closely! West has a lot to lern from our real culture as they ahve throughout the centuries!
