I had heard of the famous Buddha Bar Lounge Restaurant in Paris and had always wanted to visit this place, but no such luck yet, I am very much into this Lounge restaurant seen all though one can find similar hang out in NYC and SF they are hard to come by in the U.S., infarct for those who did not know this is where the famous “Buddha Bar Lounge music” CD completions originated from, the compilation CD’s are often made up by the DJ’s that perform at the Buddha Bar and then marketed in the Music industry in CD and now days MP3 format under: Buddha bar I, Buddha Bar II,…..IV, these CD’s normally come in a set of 2, one side is made up of faster electronic music compilations from around the world that is played during the lounge hours and the 2nd CD is softer electronic compilations played during dinning and dinner hours. I am sure you may have also enjoyed the music JJ.

We use to have s few DJ’s in IRAN during the 1970’s that did the something similar, they were called “Aali Ghaphoo” and were located in the “Bazar e Safavieh” mall on Pahlavi St., these guys made up the best mix of the latest western music compilations on cassette tape and sold them as series by numbers like (121), (122), (123) and had a very popular following among the young and cool hipsters of the time, the story was that they had a deal with air line pilots that traveled abroad and would give a list or tell them purchase and bring back the latest music on each trip…..perhaps some will have memories of this.

Thank you for sharing this event JJ, we not only got to see what the inside of the Buddha Bar looks like; it also brought back great memories.

Cheers.
