Iranian reformer Abtahi jailed over election protests

A former Iranian vice-president has been sentenced to six years in jail for attempting to destabilise the country following June's disputed elections.
Mohammed Ali Abtahi is one of the most high-profile reformers to be convicted of fomenting street protests.
Around 80 have been jailed and five have been sentenced to death over the unrest that followed President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's disputed poll victory.
Opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi has called for government restraint.
"The government should not intimidate people to change their path," he was quoted as saying on his Kaleme website.

There is no saving grace for IRI

Now it is going after those who question it, but still agree with it (which by the way, they deserve the punishment for doing what they have done to Iran). This is a sure sign of the weakness and the demise of Islamic Republic, and Islam in general. To the day both are rid of for Persia's sake.

Well, it seems I couldn't hold my inner "victor" any longer.
By the way, I like your "Kabul Diaries" very much. I remember I was booted out from your blog twice as I tried to use your beautiful username, princess, along with the scene on that particular blog, the airport, as a theme to describe a Royal embarrassment when Reza jaan's aunt, princess Ashraf, was arrested at Orly airport in Paris for allegedly drugs trafficking, back in the 60's. Let's see what happens this time.
PS. The subject title on this comment is a lousy sales pitch to attract some readers to an ugly,amateur commentator only; unless you detect a relation among Israel, the prince and, the army.
And concerning Abtahi's saga; I am sure he'll survive physically and ideologically.
The Pahlavis and all mullahs must disclose the source and the amount of their wealth.
