Dubai Seeks U.S. Aid in Assassination Probe

American and United Arab Emirates authorities are exchanging
information on a handful of credit-card accounts, issued through two
U.S. firms, that Dubai police say were used by suspects in the killing
of a top Hamas official in Dubai, according to a person familiar with
the situation.

For years, U.S. government officials have flown into the U.A.E. and
other Persian Gulf states, asking for assistance in terror-financing
probes. The investigation of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh's death appears to be
the highest-profile case in which the roles are reversed: The U.A.E. is
turning to Washington in its efforts to track down suspected criminal
financing through the U.S. banking system.

Dubai police said earlier this week that they have identified credit
card accounts that they believe were used by 14 of 26 suspects sought in
the killing of Mr. Mabhouh, a senior leader in the Palestinian militant
group. His body was found in a Dubai hotel room on Jan. 20.

Suspicion has fallen on Israel, and Dubai's police chief has said he
is "99%" certain that Israel's Mossad intelligence service was behind
the killing, though he hasn't shared details of the case. European and
Australian officials have called in their Israeli ambassadors, demanding
help in determining how passports their governments issued ended up
linked to the case.

if Dubai will get any help from the U.S., but I am pretty sure that the Mossad had a lot of help from Hamas in conducting the operation.:-)))
