According this news item on the main page of BBC website, Norouz is a Kurdish celebration. The reporter claims the best Norouz celebration is held in an obscure Kurdish town where a dozen of Kurdish boys and girls dance to the music. He even talks about Zahak as a "Kurdish legend!" I guess Ferdousi was Kurd too!

Built under the Mowj project, Jamaran is referred to locally as a 'destroyer', although the design is based on the Iranian Navy's existing 1960s-vintage British-built Alvand-class (Vosper Mk 5) frigates.

According to local state-owned media reports, the ship displaces 1,420-1,500 tons, which is the size of a light frigate or corvette.

MOSCOW — U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has urged Russia to delay launching Iran's nuclear plant until Tehran proves that it's not pursuing atomic weapons.

Clinton made the statement Thursday when asked about Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's statement that Iran's first nuclear reactor is set to be launched this summer.

Clinton said Iran is entitled to civil atomic energy, but added that it would be premature to go forward with any nuclear project when Tehran has yet to prove the peaceful nature of its program.
