In rare interview, Foreign Minister Walid Moallem says Syria is 'Ready' To Work With New UN Envoy

Despite casting blame for the conflict on external powers, Moallem told Al-Monitor that Syria welcomes mediation efforts, including those of Lakhdar Brahimi [1], the new joint UN/Arab League Syria envoy... Moallem also said he welcomed a new mediation offer proposed by Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari to broker discussions between the Syrian government and the opposition [2], under Brahimi's auspices.
