Many of you might have seen this, but I thought it was worth posting in any case. Divorce Iranian Style covers the heinous state of women's rights in the matter of divorce under the Islamic republic. We are all aware of the woefully inadequate state of women's rights in this regard, but it unquestionably merits as much publicity as it can get. To say that some of the scenes in this film made my blood boil is truly an understatement. It was co-directed and written by the Iranian-British anthropologist Dr. Ziba Mir-Hosseini, author of Islam and Gender [1] (an excellent book btw) and other books. If you haven't seen it, it's definitely worth a viewing.
