A charity set up to sponsor poor children in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Indonesia and the United States had its computers seized by federal agents in a raid Tuesday on its downtown Portland office.
The web site for the charity, Child Foundation [1], says it was founded in 1994 and has a five-member board of directors [2]. All the directors have Iranian names and their web site bios say they live in Portland, Seattle, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Indonesia.
The raid occurred on Tuesday morning in the charity's office on the fifth floor of the Terminal Sales Building at 1220 SW Morrison St, says a witness who was in the building on an unrelated matter. The witness saw men with shirts marked "federal agent" hauling computers out of the office.
