Apparently there are no good Iranians left in the world, to champion the preservation of Iranian Heritage in the world. Clearly it is the kind of job that has to be outsourced these days.
Please welcome for your entertainment, Dr. John Curtis of the UK, who has been appointed CEO of the Iran Heritage Foundation and it's US variation IHF America. I heard that Ahmadinejad is also coming out of retirement, and is trying to get the post of CEO of the British Heart Foundation. He just has to prove he has one.
According to the "enthusiastic" announcement by Alireza Rastegar, IHF Chairman and Trustee, (who is also blind apparently, Akh-ey... bemiram eeshallah...), Curtis' expertise on Iran specifically, "...specializes in the archaeology and history of Iran and Iraq from 1000 BC to 330 BC..." Apparently we haven't evolved much since 330 BC. Or maybe there just isn't any good archaeological evidence of it. Funny, one would think that Iran under the IRI is in total ruin.
IHF America is a US-based registered 501(c)(3) public charity and its mission and programs are non-political and non-religious, and therefore non-relevant to the actual current condition of Iranians. Once again, our mythical past and farcically re-imagined and re-shaped heritage is "well protected". But God forbid we ever work on our present, or future.
According to the release, "[Dr. Curtis] is married to Dr Vesta Sarkhosh Curtis, curator of Middle Eastern coins at the British Museum", a lesser known fact is that she is also the Chair of the Grants Commitee of the Iran Heritage Foundation... Wait! What? Oh, I get it now! Nevermind! VOY!
