This past summer I drove my parents to Rasht, Anzali and Ardabil. These photos are from Anzali to Ardabil through the Heyran Pass (Gardaneh Heyran). They include shots of Anzali port, town, and lake and of Ardabil's famous Boq'eh Shaykh Safi al-Din where many early Safavids (including Shah Isma'il I) are buried. The structure is a magnificent example of 15-16 century Iran Islamic art and architecture.
