Yup. That’s right. Sepahan of Esfahan will make history in a few hours when they become the first ever Iranian club team to play at the FIFA World Cup. Sepahan will face Waitakere United of New Zealand as the favorites. The game is set to start at 5:45 am, EST. By the time many of you are reading this blog entry, the game will already be over and I’m predicting our boys as the winners. What’s more amazing is that their next game will be against none other than Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan, to whom Sepahan lost the AFC Champions League only a few weeks ago. It’s payback time! I know. All of you are saying that I’m already predicting back to back wins for Sepahan, but I can’t help myself. Beating both teams is very possible and it will put our boys against AC Milan for the semi-final game. Can you believe it? Our boys will be heavy underdogs, but who cares! I want that game. We’ll never be as good as the likes of A.C. Milan unless we play them in a real tourney. I can’t go to sleep. I may just stay up until the game starts.
