Nowrooz with Funnyman Maz Jobrani

I am so proud of the young Iranians who comprise San Francisco State University’s Iranian Culture Club. They are a group of beautiful young men and women who take pride in their Iranian heritage and are very much tuned into Iranian culture and arts inside and outside Iran. Their very important contribution is their role in diligently promoting Iranian traditions and issues within the large and growing Iranian community in the San Francisco Bay Area, bringing a sense of identity and pride to the thriving younger first- and second-generation Iranians in the area.

On Friday, March 7th, 2008, San Francisco State University’s Iranian Culture Club will hold its annual Nowrooz Celebration, featuring the famous Iranian stand-up comedian, Maz Jobrani. If you live in this area, never miss any parties SFSU’s Iranian Culture Club throws, as they are the very best, and don’t miss the chance to watch Maz Jobrani live. He will make you think and he will make you laugh, all the time reminding you that to have a sense of humor about what is happening in the world today beats feeling angry and helpless about it any day! Maz Jobrani is an acclaimed comedian and actor, whose work on behalf of Iran and Iranians, in my view, has rendered him Iran’s most influential ambassador of peace (in a funny way!). You can read more about Maz Jobrani in our own Ari Siletz’ interview with him here. For more information and tickets, please go to: www.sfsuicc.com.
