The 61st Annual of the International Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 14th to May 25th 2008.
Presided this Year by American Star and director Sean Penn.
20 feature films will be competing in different categories including the prestigious Palme D’Or.
54 Feature films from a total of 31 countries will be divided as such : 20 films in Competition, 19 films in the un Certain Regard category, 53 World Premier Screenings, 8 first films and 26 short films from 18 countries.
The Jury of the Official competition is composed of the following people amongst which Iranian director Marjane Satrapi who won the Jury Prize last year for her animated movie Persepolis also nominated this year for the Oscars in best animation ( lost to Pixar’s Ratatouille):
