My uncle Dr Bahram Javid was honored by hundreds of his peers and former students in Los Angeles on Oct 25th for his life-long achievements. It was a beautiful occasion for a man who is deeply loved and appreciated for his kindness and service to the medical community. I have wonderful memories of him, his lovely wife Ziba, and my cousins in Shiraz as well as the San Francisco Bay Area. Here’s one photo from the mid 1970s. Congratulations Amoo Jan! Love you lots!
Here’s a brief bio: “Dr. Bahram Javid is currently Chairman of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the School of Dentistry at the University of Pacific in San Francisco, California. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the School of Dentistry at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), where he was twice voted Teacher of the Year. Dr. Javid is founder of School of Dental Medicine and served as both the Dean of School of Dental Medicine and Dean of Students at the School of Medicine at Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran. Dr. Javid attended Hillsea College and Durham University in the United Kingdom and served a specialty residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania hospital in Philadelphia. He obtained his D.M.D from Tufts University, School of Dental medicine. He was a Fellow at the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Society. He also serves as an advisor at the World Heath Organization. He currently lives in El Cerrito, California.
