With the death toll in the Gaza Strip rapidly rising, Obama’s initial reaction of “no immediate comment” has become “no comment.” Some naive people try to justify this by saying that he wants to observe the constitutional propriety of deferring everything to the sitting president until he takes over on Jan. 20. But he has not been so deferential to George W. Bush on the US economy. The president-elect has talked at great length and in great detail about his plans for America’s financial recovery.
