Egypt: FM :Iran is trying to divide Arabs

Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit said that Egypt is one of the Arab countries who are mostly against the attack on Palestine. He added Arabs have agreed to adopt peace as strategic option. He added that Arabs discovered that when Israel attacks the Gaza Strip, war should not turn on Egypt. If Arabs succeeded in reaching reconciliation in the few weeks to come, the Arab summit of Doha, to be held late in March, would be a success.

But if foreign effects persisted, we would face quite a problem in the summit. Abul-Gheit accused Iran of attempting to divide Arabs and to create differences among Arabs in order to achieve its ambitions in the region.

Abul-Gheit added in his interview with T.V first channel, there is a great change in discussions by Arab joint action follow up committee, of the Arab League. Abul-Gheit stressed that Arabs agreed to continue with adopting the Arab peace initiative, against those who tried to give it up.

Abul-Gheit added that the new U.S administration seeks openness on the Arab and Islamic world and we should have talks with it and not to cast doubts on the intents of the U.S administration from the very beginning. He described Egypt Saudi Arabia relations as excellent and some issues of Egyptians living in Saudi Arabia are being dealt with exactly as citizens of Saudi Arabia
