Nazanin Afshin Jam has been Independantly struggling for Human Rights and Democracy over the years. She recently participated to a panel on Iran at the Canadian Parliament ( see Facebook Link) led by Shirin Ebadi Iranian Nobel Peace Laureate 2003 and has reached out across the Diaspora’s Political arena to such people as exiled reformist Fatameh Haghighatjoo or exiled Crown Prince of Iran Reza Pahlavi who are at opposite ends of the Iranian political landscape. Afshin Jam’s Independant Stature has allowed her to meet Iranians in the Public eye with a wide variety of backgrounds and particularly Iranians from across the political spectrum who to date refuse or have not been able to cooperate on a common agenda: Human Rights and Democracy for Iran.
Could she be the ideal Goodwill Ambassador who could bridge Iranians at large towards more Solidarity beyond Political Affiliation? What is certain, is that her efforts are commendable and have payed off since she was able to save a namesake’s life ( ) and draw international awareness on the predicament of many similar cases worldwide and particularly in Iran her home country.
