Jafar Panahi, prominent Iranian filmmaker who was released on bail in May in Iran, will open the 67th session of Venice Film Festival with the debut of his short film, The Accordion.According to AFP, Venice Festival organizers said in a statement: “Jafar Panahi is expected in Venice for the Giornate degli Autori – Venice Days section of the 67th Venice Mostra (September1-11).”
In the post election events, Panahi was detained twice by Iranian security forces.
