Petition circulates to save Canadian-Iranian “blogfather” from death

By Wednesday afternoon, the Free Hossein Derakhshan page on Facebook, set up by international organizers, had about 1,700 members and more than 160 people had signed a new online petition supporting Derakhshan on www.freetheblogfather.org.

Hossein ‘Hoder’ Derakhshan, 35 and often nicknamed the Iranian “blogfather,” has been in an Iranian prison since he was arrested when he returned to the country on Nov. 1, 2008.
