TEHRAN, Iran — Iran’s official IRNA news agency says eight convicted drug traffickers have been hanged.
Monday executions bring the total number of hangings in the past three days to 20.
Murder, rape, armed robbery, kidnapping and drug trafficking are crimes punishable with the death penalty in Iran.
In recent weeks, judiciary officials had warned they would clamp down on offences such as drug trafficking and rape.
